First, thank you to everyone who voted for Anna and her Haiti project in the www.Examiner.com contest. An amazing 13 year old boy with Cystic Fibrosis won and we are so happy for him! We do know the contest helped spread the word about the great needs in Haiti. For the SUSIE magazine contest in the month of December, the top winner raised over $2000 to help care for the orphans in my orphanages! Her name is Joslynn and she and her mom will go with us to Haiti in June. Here is a quote on how she raised the money, "I didn’t rely on others to give me money, and I didn’t persist in asking for it. I decided that God would work through the heart’s of the people that could give financially. He even worked in me, by putting it on my heart to give all the money I had earned in December to the girls in Haiti. I learned that most of the time, those who didn’t have a much, were the ones who gave the most." Other SUSIE "sisters" helped raise over $6000 total...wow...thank you!!!

All girls ages 13-18 are invited to partner with Anna and SUSIE magazine to help raise funds to care for the 40 teenage girls in Anna`s four orphanages. The December issue of SUSIE challenges readers to help before the contest ends on January 1, 2012. At that time, the girl who has raised the most money, along with her parent or guardian, will join Anna to visit the orphanages in Haiti in early 2012--all expenses paid!! Today we received a shipment of teal colored rubber wristbands with "Heart for Haiti" printed on them. Anna is hoping to have as many people as possible wear them as a way to remember the January 12, 2010 earthquake and to remind others to continue to help the people of Haiti. They are available for a suggested donation of $1 each. Only orders of 20 or more can be shipped. Just send an email to this site if you are interested. Thanks!!

Last weekend a family friend stopped by our house and gave $1000 toward Anna`s CD project! This was very encouraging and reminded us again of how generous everyone has been. THANK YOU:)
